Destiny Green

has drawn inspiration for her work from a variety of sources.

Her formal education included studies at Otis Art Institute, Rhode Island School of Design, and the Massachusetts College of Art, before receiving a B.A. in Fine Art with a minor in Biology from Framingham College in Massachusetts in 2004. Destiny expanded her art education by studying under and attending lectures by noted artists such as Paul Ingbretson, Richard Schmid, and Dennis Cheaney.

Much of Destiny’s inspiration, however, comes from the joys and challenges that she encounters in her everyday life. Raising her twin daughters has shown Destiny the beauty of the human spirit and turned her artistic focus towards painting portraits. The loss of her brother at a young age, and more recently the loss of her father to cancer, inspired her to help others cope with the loss of loved ones through the healing power of art. She now focuses much of her portrait art on commissioned posthumous portraits.

Inspiration for her landscapes comes from being immersed in the beauty of the Blackstone Valley of Massachusetts where she lives and works. Her love of nature and the local landscape are reflected in her landscape art.

Destiny currently resides in Douglas, Massachusetts with her fiancée, two daughters, and Pita, the studio cat.
