Summer Workshops

Plein Air Workshop - 2 Summer Sessions

Ahh plein air painting- Standing in a field, warm sun on your back, birds chirping, and bugs in your painting. There is nothing else like it. Join me in a 1 day painting adventure! Whether you have never painted plein air or have been dying to get back out there and hone your skills, this workshop is a must! Starts with a morning demonstration, after a break for lunch, students will create their own painting with guidance from the instructor.
Cold drinks and lunch provided.

Life Drawing Workshop

Drawing from life can seem intimidating but there is no better way to strengthen your observational skills. Contrary to popular belief, life drawing can be learned by anyone. In this workshop students will learn the simple steps needed to create a life drawing from start to finish. Great for beginners or more advanced students looking to strengthen their skills.

Class Descriptions

Children

Beginning- Exploring the fundamentals of art.
Line, shape, form, texture, color, & value are taught through drawing, painting, and 3-Dimensionnal projects.
While most of the lessons involve drawing & painting, children will have the opportunity to experiment with a wide variety of other mediums such as pastels, colored pencils, collage, and clay.
Ages 6-10 (or with permission from the instructor)
Class length - 1.5 hours

Intermediate
Children devolope observational and technical skills as they learn to combine art elements to create individual works of art. Active participation in the creative process is encouraged through brainstorming, sketching, and designing their own ideas.
Ages 8-12 (or with permission from the instructor)
Class length - 1.5 hours

Advanced/Teens
Students learn to fine tune their technical, observational, and design skills. Heavy involvement in the creative process is encouraged as students learn to manipulate the art elements in order to express their own vision.
Ages 13+ (or with permission from the instructor)
Class length - 2 hours

Adults

Fine Art Studio
Individual instruction in a group setting.
Drawing, painting, design, and color theory are offered. Students may work in any medium and choose any subject matter that interests them.
Group critiques will be held the last class of every month.
Class length - 2.5 hours

Special classes and workshops are offered occasionally throught the year.

Policies



Partial Month Payments

Due to the complications it presents, partial month payments are not accepted.

Missed Classes

If you must miss a class, you will have the opportunity to make it up by attending one of the other scheduled classes or by attending one of the make-up sessions held at the end of every quarter.Refunds will not be given for missed classes.

Registration

Registration and fees are due 1 week prior to the start of the month.

Cancelations

Classes may be canceled due to low enrollment. Full refunds will be given if this occurs.

Inclement weather
Students will be notified by email or phone if class is canceled due to inclement weather. Fees will be refunded or applied to future classes.
